Business Wire today announced that Ken Wolf has been promoted to vice president, software development.

In his new role, Wolf manages the maintenance, enhancements, reliability, security and scaling of Business Wire’s online newsroom hosting products, InvestorHQ and NewsHQ, as well as a growing staff of creative engineers.
“Ken’s been instrumental in so many important Business Wire milestones, and this promotion helps further the important work he does in the evolution of our technology infrastructure,” said Steve Messick, Business Wire’s chief information officer. “He was instrumental in building our current web server architecture, and in developing our early website and order-entry systems.”
Wolf started at the company as a senior software engineer in 2001 and has been promoted four times. He played a key role in the design and development of a dozen initial versions of Business Wire’s custom software systems. He started and managed the software quality assurance department and served as the lead project manager for the development of Business Wire’s EON: Enhanced Online News service. Additionally, he acted as the representative to international standard committees for XML, NewsML and XBRL. Wolf graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis. He currently resides in Albany, Calif., and enjoys reading, jogging, basketball, computer programming and spending time with his family.
