Market Definition
The homebuilding industry covers the construction of new residential buildings, including houses and apartments. The industry is considered in terms of production. Volumes refer to the number of new individual dwellings completed in a given year. Values are calculated as the product of volume and average (mean) annual price of a new dwelling to an end-user (such as an owner-occupier), even when the dwelling remains in the ownership of the developer. Any currency conversions used in this report have been calculated using constant 2011 annual average exchange rates.
