PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF), the educational arm of the American Culinary Federation, has endorsed Star Career Academy's Philadelphia campus for quality education, after completing a thorough set of criteria.  Star's Long Island campus had previously been quality endorsed.

"Being quality endorsed by the ACFEF gives our culinary program in Philadelphia a designation that shows that we are doing our job of educating the culinary professionals of tomorrow," said Michael Iannacone, president and CEO of Star Career Academy. Star's Newark and New York City campuses are currently in application process for ACFEF quality endorsement.

In 1976, ACF forever changed the culinary industry by elevating the position of the executive chef from service status to the professional category in the U.S. Department of Labor's Dictionary of Official Titles.  The ACF is made up of more than 20,000 members who belong to more than 200 chapters in four regions across the United States. 

In addition to the programmatic designation, two Star Career Academy chefs from the Long Island campus are certified by the ACF.  Chef Paul Senken from Star's Long Island campus is a Certified Executive Chef with more than 25 years of experience in a variety of settings.  Chef Lenny Messina is a Certified Executive Pasty Chef, with more than 20 years of experience with Corporate Dining Services in Manhattan's financial district.
