Battery-Biz® Inc., the leading U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of consumer electronic power accessories, today named veteran technology product marketer and product manager Raj Mitra as Vice President of Product Management at Battery-Biz and its newly formed subsidiary, BuQu Tech.
Mitra will oversee the product roadmap and product development as well as expansion of the Magnetyze™ by BuQu Tech magnetic charging system (www.BuQuTech.com/Magnetyze) product line, the new way for iPhone and Android users to connect, protect and attach. Magnetyze accessories are now available for the Apple iPhone 4 and 4S. Apple iPhone 5 accessories are in development. In Q4, BuQu Tech will introduce its first Magnetyze smartphone cases and charging accessories for Android™ with products for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
“Raj’s extensive experience with top-tier global companies and in a wide variety of product development, marketing and management roles make him the ideal individual to bring to market our breakthrough family of Magnetyze by BuQu Tech smartphone accessories as well as extend our line of Battery-Biz aftermarket power products,” said Ophir Marish, the longtime CEO of Battery-Biz, who also heads BuQu Tech. “We expect he will play a key role in the future growth of these two organizations.”
“Battery-Biz has a long history of offering high-quality power products for portable electronic devices and has been a trusted business partner to consumer electronics retailers since 1988,” Mitra said. “BuQu Tech’s Magnetyze family of products will bring an entirely new dimension to the power category and to those relationships. No other company is doing both charge and data synchronization wirelessly or through a conductive, magnetic connection, which makes it very compelling.”
Mitra has more than two decades of product marketing and product management experience in consumer electronics, personal computers and workstations, enterprise software and microprocessors. Most recently, Mitra directed global go-to-market product strategy and market research for Linksys wireless home networking products at Cisco Systems, Inc. Previously, he held leadership roles and successfully grew both product lines and businesses in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America on behalf of Hewlett-Packard Company, Thales/Magellan Navigation, Inc., and Intel Corporation. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, and earned an MBA degree in marketing and finance from the New York University Stern School of Business.
