BALTIMORE, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year in a row, the prestigious World Business Forum is being broadcast to 39 institutions in the Laureate International Universities network in more than 19 countries on October 2 and today on October 3. The two-day webcast will provide more than 60,000 students the opportunity to participate in the event.
In addition to the webcast, 39 undergraduates, graduate students and faculty members from around the world were selected to attend the World Business Forum. Selected students have been interviewing attendees, conducting virtual interviews with those watching from partner universities, providing on-camera observations and encouraging discussions among their fellow viewers. Students were chosen to attend based on their leadership skills and record of academic achievement. The broadcast is conducted through the Laureate Live platform in English with Spanish captions, and participating institutions in the Laureate network have created unique program curricula to complement the event.
"Laureate continuously strives to provide our students with a front-row seat to academically rich content like the World Business Forum," said Douglas L. Becker, Chairman and CEO of Laureate Education, Inc. "We want to give our students access to a world beyond their universities so that they have the necessary tools to be successful upon graduation."
The World Business Forum was created in 2004, and this year's speakers include Jim Collins, author and business thinker; Sir Richard Branson, CEO and chairman of Virgin Group; Ursula Burns, Chairman and CEO of Xerox Corporation and many other distinguished guests.
