SCRA Applied R&D’s PDES, Inc. (founded for Product Data Exchange using Standard for the Exchange of Product model data), is pleased to announce the recent publication of six new standards generated by the LOng Term Archiving and Retrieval (LOTAR) team – an affiliated, international PDES, Inc. project. The standards were published through the Aerospace Industry Association (AIA) and the National Aerospace Standards (NAS) organization in the NAS9300 series.
“For over 20 years SCRA’s PDES, Inc. program has made advancements in model-based standards for global industry,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “These new standards will further enable value chains for both discovery and enterprise, and carry on the strong tradition of excellence that SCRA brings to technology development.”
These newly published standards were developed in an effort to help design and engineering enterprises retain their 3-D product definition in an application-neutral format that is usable and not modified over time. LOTAR standards enable the packaging of data and information for enterprise reuse and repurpose applications as well as enabling data exchange between products. The following is the list of standards published at the end of April 2012:
