Alliance Health Networks and Life Line Screening today announced the launch of Lifelong Health, a new online social network that aims to empower the growing population of people over 45 seeking to maximize their health as they age. The new site is available at www.LifelongHealth.com.
As the newest addition to Alliance Health’s growing portfolio of more than 50 condition-specific social networks, Lifelong Health is a dynamic online community where people start conversations, share experiences, read and post product recommendations, and discuss health related topics. The new Lifelong Health network offers proactive, health-conscious individuals a place to communicate with others who share their interest in preventive health and wellness. According to Edison Research, Americans age 45 and older represent the largest percentage increase in social media usage in the past year, now up to 38 percent (from 31 percent in 2011).
“We are thrilled to add Lifelong Health to our family of social networks,” said Dan Hickey, senior vice president of products at Alliance Health Networks. “Our goal is to create online communities that provide consumers with information and personal connections that measurably impact their well-being. Lifelong Health creates an environment for people who aspire to good health over their entire lifespan. Our partnership with Life Line Screening provides tremendous value to members as they navigate their personal health journey.”
The new social network aims to educate health care consumers about the value of preventive medicine and a preventive lifestyle, including how services provided by Life Line Screening, such as vascular ultrasound and laboratory screenings, can be incorporated into a general wellness approach. Life Line Screening conducts nearly 1 million community-based screenings annually at over 15,000 locations nationwide.
“The Lifelong Health community is an important new resource for any person looking to interact with others with similar mindsets online,” said Colin Scully, Chairman and CEO of Life Line Screening. “Having worked so hard throughout their lives, our community members are focused on enjoying life to the fullest, and we share that goal. By paying attention to our health, we all hope to live the longest, healthiest lives possible. Lifelong Health will support this goal by allowing all of us to engage in online health conversations with supportive peers, community advocates and medical professionals.”
