INFOCOM CORPORATION (JASDAQ:4348) announced today its investment in UbiNuri,Inc., providing application store services and publishing business through their platform. Based on this investment, INFOCOM will expand content business and implement social media services worldwide, mainly in Asian countries, in the business of mobile internet.
UbiNuri is one of the biggest and most unique content aggregators for smartphone, affiliating with more than 1,200 developers worldwide, and it provides more than 3,500 smartphone applications cooperating with Korean major mobile operators and manufacturers.
The market for smartphone applications is expanding rapidly and extensively, especially the Asian market, which is one of the most important and promising markets. INFOCOM's investment in UbiNuri will realize acceleration of existing businesses by UbiNuri's partnership with Korean, other Asian carriers and developers in the world.
INFOCOM will promote global businesses, providing content services and social media services for smartphone as follows:
- Distribution of overseas popular applications in Japan
- Supporting Japanese developers for their global reach
- Overseas expansion of "TABROID", a review site for Android applications, operated by INFOCOM in Japan.
