LEICESTER, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 10/11/12 -- Fashion blogger Emily Knightley of Sugar and Spice has won the chance to be Next's guest blogger in their latest competition. The bloggers were asked to answer one of three questions; "What are your five key pieces for the AW12 season and why?", "Androgyny vs. Girly trend - what's your view?" or "What are your favourite catwalk-inspired pieces from Next?" Emily went with her five favourite pieces from Next for the AW12 season in her post which can be viewed at www.sugar-and-spice.com/2012/09/must-have-five-key-pieces-every-girl-should-own-for-autumn-winter-2012-2.html.
Emily begun, "Autumn has firmly arrived on British shores this week and so everyone has begun to scramble to put together their wardrobe for the new season. With SS13's shows not even over yet, February's shows which foretold what we'd be wearing now seem like a distant dream. So I thought it was time to refresh some memories and pick out my top five pieces every girl show have in her wardrobe this autumn..."
The first key piece was "The Graphic Jumper" for which she chose Next's Aztec print jumper and put together alongside catwalk shots of models rocking the trend. Number two was the essential cinched belt; a fashion favourite being the black stud waist belt in keeping with the luxe trend. The third piece was the oversized coat; particular coats selected were grey knit and oatmeal double breasted designs.
"The '70s have been having something of a revival for a few seasons now and this continues into autumn for 2012, having graced the catwalks at Prada, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton," explained Emily about her fourth trend - 70s print - choosing an AW12 printed ladies shirt and geo shift dress to illustrate her favourites.
Lastly she put together a collection of her favourite plaid pieces from Next, saying, "Prints are big for AW12 and plaid - and tartan - have never been hotter, as seen at JW Anderson, Jonathan Saunders and Marni. Dress head-to-toe if you dare, or pick a piece here and there."
Emily will be guest writing for the Next blog for the next few months - look out for her posts of how she would style the latest Next collections.
