Panelist Bios:
Alistair Farquharson is CTO at SOA Software. His skills span many industries and include designing and implementing system architectures, as well as spearheading initiatives as development/team lead. He's an expert in custom application development, distributed environments, architecting scalable hardware and software applications and systems, and Web services application development. At SOA Software, Farquharson spearheads product development and provides thought leadership to enterprise customers implementing Web Services. Prior to joining SOA Software, he worked at US Interactive, where he was a key advisor to CTOs of many companies regarding Internet architecture issues. He was also a member of the architectural guiding committee, which helped to design the next generation of Internet architecture.
Wayne Ariola is Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Parasoft, a leading provider of integrated software development management, quality lifecycle management, and dev/test environment management solutions. He leverages customer input and fosters partnerships with industry leaders to ensure that Parasoft solutions continuously evolve to support the ever-changing complexities of real-world business processes and systems. Ariola has more than 15 years of strategic consulting experience within the technology and software development industries. He holds a BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from Indiana University.
Dr. John Bates is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Progress Software. In this role, he is responsible for creating, evolving and evangelizing Progress' market strategy and technology vision. Previously, he was General Manager of Progress Software's Apama Division - the market leading provider of Complex Event Processing (CEP) solutions. In this role, he was responsible for Divisional P&L including sales, marketing, products and consulting services and in 3 years grew revenue by over 300%.
Alok Rishi is a Chief Technologist at Coraid and is leading the development of EtherCloud, the industry's first software-defined storage platform for architects of the modern data center. Alok has a BS in Computer Science from USF, an MS in Computer Engineering/Artificial Intelligence from SCU, and an MS in Software Management from CMU.
