Mobile Satellite Ventures Appoints Jack Dziak Senior Vice President of Services and Distribution
Mobile Satellite Ventures Appoints Jack Dziak Senior Vice President of Services and Distribution

By: PR Newswire
Jun. 27, 2006 10:00 AM

RESTON, Va., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV), at the forefront of developing the first hybrid satellite-terrestrial communications network, announced today that Jack Dziak has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Services and Distribution. Mr. Dziak will be responsible for building MSV's next generation services portfolio and formulating and executing distribution and delivery agreements with strategic channel partners to meet their mobile broadband requirements.

Mr. Dziak joins MSV after serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development for MCI Communications (now Verizon Business), where he was responsible for creating and executing MCI's strategic direction, and identifying and developing business opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships and technologies to support that strategy, including the acquisition of the company by Verizon.

"Jack is an outstanding addition to the MSV team, one who will provide strong leadership and delivery skills to our services strategy and strategic partnering efforts," said Alex Good, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MSV. "As MSV executes on its long-term strategic vision, we look forward to leveraging Jack's extensive experience in both mobility and IP to assist us with the development and deployment of a truly differentiated portfolio of mobile IP services."

"The prospect of a nation-wide, native-IP mobile broadband network affords a unique opportunity to accelerate mobile services innovation. Large market segments are demanding mobile service environments as open as the internet," said Dziak. "The mobile broadband market is in its infancy -- but it is sure to mature quickly. MSV is poised to take a formative role in defining this new industry landscape -- by changing the way people will harness the power of IP through mobile applications. Helping define this transformation is a unique and exciting opportunity, and I look forward to playing an active role in that transformation."

Prior to joining MCI, Dziak was a Partner at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), serving in the Communications and High Tech vertical market unit. During his eight year tenure at the firm, he served a broad range of clients in the communications, high tech, data services, and software markets, with a consistent emphasis on wireless and mobility technologies. Previously, Dziak was with Coopers & Lybrand's (now IBM) Information/Communications strategy consulting practice. During his seven years at C&L, he worked extensively in many of the world's major telecommunications privatization efforts, working in the capacity of regulatory economist, corporate finance and restructuring specialist. Over the course of his 18 year career, Dziak has worked with communications services providers in over 20 countries.

Mr. Dziak holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude Honors) in Economics from The Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), earning his charter in 1992.

About Mobile Satellite Ventures

Mobile Satellite Ventures LP (MSV) is at the forefront of the development of the first hybrid satellite-terrestrial communications network, which will provide seamless, transparent and ubiquitous wireless coverage of North America to conventional handsets. It has extensive patents on the technology and holds the first and only FCC license to provide these services. Along with its Canadian joint venture partner, MSV Canada, MSV plans to launch two satellites for North American coverage, which will be among the largest and most powerful commercial satellites ever built. When completed, the network will transform communications in a variety of areas including public safety, homeland security, aviation, transportation and entertainment, by providing interoperable, user-friendly and feature-rich voice and high-speed data services. MSV received the first ATC license granted by the FCC, marking a new era for the mobile satellite industry.

Today MSV offers customers a wide choice of wireless data, voice, fax and dispatch radio services via the two MSAT satellites. It provides superior capacity and reliability across North America, northern South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Hawaii and their coastal waters.

MSV is privately held and its primary investors include Motient Corporation, SkyTerra Communications, TMI Communications, Columbia Capital, and Spectrum Equity Investors.
