DETROIT, Oct. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Editor's Note: A $20 million investment in Detroit and Michigan mental healthcare by Nashville-based Behavioral Centers of America will be saluted by top State and Detroit government officials as "StoneCrest Center Mental Health Awareness Day" 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 with an invitation-only ceremonial event at the hospital, 15000 Gratiot Avenue, Detroit.
Completely rebuilt-to-new-standards units for adults and youth, along with a totally renovated geriatrics unit will be dedicated and open for a unique "one-time" public viewing Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 from 1:30 to 7:00 p.m. with tours, refreshments and information on mental healthcare services. Patient privacy laws and respect will prevent the new hotel-like designs from public view in the future.
BCA is already about halfway through the $20 million, three-phase investment in Detroit turning a formerly bankrupt eastside hospital [Saratoga] into a major regional mental health asset with new models of diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care through its national commitment to the single specialty of psychiatric healthcare.
About StoneCrest Center: StoneCrest Center is a 90-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital licensed by the State of Michigan and part of the Behavioral Centers of America network in the forefront of developing new models of diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care that is redefining how mental healthcare is delivered.
