Vordel the API Server [http://www.vordel.com/products/API-Server.html] provider that connects business, mobile and cloud, today announced the availability of a free trial of the Vordel API Server, [http://resources.vordel.com/index.php/downloads/] an enterprise-ready, unified platform to manage, deliver and secure APIs. Unlike other offerings in the market, Vordel’s free trial of its API Server, offers anyone, without pre-qualification, access to a fully featured enterprise API management platform which can be used on premise with no time limit. This approach is unique as it offers on-premise usage, so it is truly free of charge to the trial user -- unlike the free Open API model offered by some vendors where trial users are forced to place APIs in the firm’s cloud which results in monthly fees. Additionally, the free trial offers users the opportunity to experience key enhancements to the Vordel API Server’s management and security capabilities.
Sign up and start using the Vordel API Server today.
Today, the majority of the enterprise API market is using APIs for enterprise application interaction with third parties. This trend means businesses are increasingly wired together with their consumers via APIs as evidenced in Vordel’s recent Immerse API Adoption survey. The survey [http://www.vordel.com/company/news/press/22_05_12.html] revealed that half of the enterprises polled are adopting APIs to build out new business channels. Additionally, the survey showed a quarter of the respondents polled are adopting APIs to roll out mobile applications; with the remaining quarter of respondents leveraging APIs for other unidentified purposes or to build a developer community.
“We’re offering a free trial of the Vordel API Server without pre-qualification as we want to rapidly share this valuable opportunity for businesses to accelerate API adoption and to roll out mobile applications,” said Hugh Carroll, VP Marketing, Vordel. “The trial offers a full featured version of the Vordel API Server offering access to our seventh generation technology with its security and high-performance API delivery. Furthermore, users can trial it on their own premises with no time limit. Our customers have found the Vordel API Server sets the pace for high-performance enterprise API delivery and we’re confident that trial users of the product will agree with this feedback.”
Mike Gionfriddo, CTO at Safeway subsidiary, Blackhawk Network, a leading provider of prepaid and financial payments products for consumers and businesses, said: "Cloud and mobile computing have greatly increased the usage of APIs in the retail and financial services' industries. High availability and performance are key factors in the commercial success of any APIs exposed to developers, application end users and ultimately the consumers of the service. An API Server provides the policy governance capabilities to ensure the APIs are optimized for performance and scalability. Enterprises should look to use API Servers for security enforcement, traffic management and monitoring tasks at wire speed. "

While Docker continues to be the darling of startups, enterprises and IT innovators around the world, networking continues to be a real mess. Indeed, managing the interaction between Docker containers and networks has always been fraught with complications. Without automation in networking, the vision of running Docker at scale and letting IT run the same apps unchanged on the laptop and in the data center or for any cloud cannot be realized.
