WellAware Systems Launched in the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society’s Award-Winning LivingWell@Home Program

WellAware Systems, a leader in remote patient monitoring for senior care providers, announced the successful launch of its technology in The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society’s LivingWell@Home program. WellAware’s deployment in the Society’s assisted living and home care communities began in August 2012 and will continue through 2014 for a total of six rehab/skilled locations, 45 housing with services, and 53 assisted living communities across the U.S.

A recent recipient of a bronze “Quality Through Technology Award” in the first annual McKnight’s Excellence In Technology Awards, the LivingWell@Home program was developed to help seniors live more independently and remain in the place they choose to call home longer. The use of WellAware’s monitoring technology, along with telehealth and personal emergency response system (PERS) technology, is being used to enhance care and service delivery. The LivingWell Center staff remotely analyzes information from the monitoring systems to identify health concerns early and alert their site-based clinical staff of changes in resident health trends.

WellAware’s advanced remote patient monitoring solution tracks and trends the wellness of seniors and identifies changes in patterns such as sleep quality, mobility and bathroom visits. Utilizing non-invasive, passive sensors in combination with proprietary algorithms and a powerful data analytic platform, the WellAware solution provides objective information to caregivers that empowers them to make proactive decisions about care before emergent conditions become acute.

“The LivingWell@Home program is setting a new standard in how senior care is delivered in the industry,” said David Horazdovsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Good Samaritan Society. “WellAware’s advanced technology is playing an important role in our initiative’s success and the overall improved quality of life of our residents and clients.”

“WellAware is very proud to partner with the Society to support its delivery of the groundbreaking LivingWell@Home program,” said Teresa DiMarco, CEO of WellAware Systems. “As we look to the future in healthcare, the ability to improve outcomes and enhance cost effectiveness will be key factors in the success of senior care providers. WellAware’s participation in industry-leading programs like LivingWell@Home will demonstrate the power of using technology to deliver proactive, preventive care for seniors that not only enhances quality of life, but also significantly benefits a care provider’s bottom line.”
