Plone and Drupal: Different Approaches, Different Results
paul.nowak wrote: Matt, thanks for the comments. I made an error on the version of Plone. It's 2.5 Plone running on Zope 2.9x. In regards to the additional products, we have a skin installed and we have a product that we had custom developed for us that connects to a PostgreSQL database. We've looked at slow PostgreSQL queries causing problems and have not been able to find an issue. We've also tested for the case where the PostgreSQL server is down and have not been able to create an issue. We therefor...

Mazu Networks Named Second Best Place to Work in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal
Mazu Networks Named Second Best Place to Work in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal

By: PR Newswire
Jun. 27, 2006 04:12 PM

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazu Networks, the leading provider of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) systems, today announced that the Boston Business Journal ranked the company as the second best place to work in Massachusetts. This year marks the second consecutive year that Mazu Networks has been listed in Boston Business Journal's Best Places to Work list. The fourth annual award recognizes the achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture.

Mazu Networks was one of more than 300 companies to qualify for consideration, ranking high in the top 20 list in its size category based on the results of employee-satisfaction surveys taken throughout the spring of 2006. The positive responses from Mazu Networks employees sealed the company's top status.

"We understand the importance of creating a positive and supportive workplace for our employees," said Paul Brady, CEO, Mazu Networks. "The Mazu Networks team is what makes the company successful so it is our responsibility to create an environment that fosters their growth, innovation and achievements. Winning the honor of the best place to work in Massachusetts through the votes of our employees demonstrates that our team feels rewarded on both a professional and personal level, which is the greatest success a company can have."

"For the fourth year in a row, our results validate how the creation of the right corporate culture can create powerful business advantages," said George Donnelly, editor for the Boston Business Journal. "We have found that employees take pride in working for companies that are more than just business."

The survey project itself was launched in January by the Boston Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm QMR Inc. of Wichita, Kansas. Companies were evaluated on the results of more than 20,000 employee-satisfaction surveys. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question.

The top 20 companies in four size categories -- emerging (10-24 employees), small (25-100 employees), midsize (101-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) -- have been profiled in a special supplement of the June 23, 2006 edition of the Boston Business Journal. A countdown celebration breakfast was held on June 22 to announce the final rankings.
