SANGER, Calif., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- A new, small-footprint Robotic Carton/Case Packing system is being debuted by ADCO at Pack Expo 2012, integrating forming, product loading, and closing all in one unit. The "EnCompass RCP-15" features two robots for quiet, precise, low maintenance operation, and it offers extreme flexibility in both, forming and packing capabilities.

The EnCompass Series features a modular, open architecture for easy access, a low-load ergonomic hopper and virtually unlimited adaptability to new products because of the use of highly flexible robotics for key machine functions.

The EnCompass is available with a variety of infeed systems and end-of-arm tool designs based on ADCO's decades of complex product handling experience and is capable of forming and loading and sealing corrugated cases, including many "Retail Ready" style packages at speeds up to 15 cases per minute when configured with a single packing robot. Additional packing robots may be used to increase the speed in certain case packing applications, but the single robot system can be configured to operate much faster in paperboard carton loading applications.

Featuring two FANUC robots; a clean-room LR Mate 200ic pick & place robot for fast case erecting, and a 6-axis, M3ia delta robot, the Encompass provides highly precise and reliable operation in all of the most critical functional areas of the machine. The EnCompass features a heavy-duty welded stainless steel frame and it comes standard with industry-leading Allen-Bradley controls, a full color HMI, PackML programming, a 6' high capacity "inset magazine" and a fully-interlocked, category 3 guard package, plus much more.
