Party cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy

BALTIMORE, Oct. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. has announced that their annual Goodwill Gridiron Halloween Party with the Baltimore Ravens scheduled for today, Monday, October 29 2012 at Dave & Buster's in Arundel Mills Mall has been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.

With the chance of flooding and dangerously high winds, Hurricane Sandy has forced local government, schools, transit systems and numerous businesses to close. Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc.s' president and CEO, along with board members for the nonprofit, have decided in order to keep everyone safe and heed the governor and President's State of Emergency warning that the party will be cancelled.

In addition to the Halloween party being cancelled, all Goodwill stores, career centers and headquarters will be closed on Monday.

The Goodwill Gridiron Halloween Party is the largest fundraiser of the year for Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake. All proceeds benefit Goodwill's training and employment programs to serve individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Goodwill's mission is to prepare people to secure and retain employment and build successful independent lives.
