HACKENSACK, N.J., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hackensack University Medical Center (Hackensack, NJ) is currently receiving 51 patients from its affiliate hospital, Palisades Medical Center. Due to the flood-induced power outage and generator flooding at Palisades, Palisades has decided to completely evacuate the facility. Palisades now has generator power restored, but conditions are too unstable to ensure uninterrupted power in the next 24-48 hours.
The National Guard began the evacuation process and safely transporting patients to HackensackUMC. HackensackUMC is prepared to assist and accommodate 32 med-surge, nine moms and/or babies and 10 ventilator and/or critical care patients.
