ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Arlington Heights, IL (November 7, 2012) -- Scranton Gillette Communications' Custom Media Division captured the Bronze Award for the Best One-Shot category in the Custom Content Council's 2012 Pearl Awards competition. The competition recognized the Custom Media Division's Creative Garden Retailer custom print and digital magazine, produced for Suntory, an advertising partner of the SGC Horticulture Group's Lawn & Garden Retailer magazine.
Creative Garden Retailer is a 32-page custom magazine offering merchandising ideas and success tips to garden center retailers. The Custom Media Division worked closely with Suntory to deliver custom content and design. Creative Garden Retailer is hosted as a digital magazine on both the Suntorycollection.com website and Lawn & Garden Retailer's lgrmag.com website. The print edition was distributed to Lawn & Garden Retailer's subscribers and to Suntory's independent garden center customers.
Creative Garden Retailer was one of more than 620 entries in the Pearl Awards competition. The winners were announced at the 2012 Pearl Awards Gala on November 5, in New York City.
SGC's Custom Media Division has produced two other award-winning publications. The debut issue of Proven Beauty, an e-magazine in collaboration with the Horticulture Group's advertising partner Proven Winners, earned the prestigious Silver Award of Achievement for overall product from the Garden Writers Association. The Green & Clean print and digital magazine, crafted for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, won a Gold Level Hermes Award.
