NEW YORK, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The CementBloc has been named a finalist in the 2012 Global Awards in 3 categories: Best Social Commitment Integrated Campaign, Best Social Commitment Print Announcement, and Best Direct-to-Consumer Integrated Campaign. Now in their 18th year, the Global Awards are awarded annually to creative campaigns that lift the perception of creativity above clever headlines and smart design, and honor those who explore the feelings and emotions transmitted between a message's creator and its recipient.
The CementBloc is recognized as a finalist for Best Social Commitment Integrated Campaign and Best Social Commitment Print Announcement for their rebranding work on behalf of the GROW SOLE Project for Girls Right of Way. Additionally, the agency has been named a finalist for Best Direct-to-Consumer Integrated Campaign for Celgene's "Pledge to Fight Forward" campaign.
The GROW SOLE Project is a collaboration between the Coore Foundation and The CementBloc that encourages people to donate their gently used shoes of all sizes, which are then sent to girls and boys in developing countries. The GROW SOLE Project merged the idea of shoes and soulfulness in true "360" fashion, appearing on posters, print ads, postcards, and giant shoe donation bins around the world.
The CementBloc is also honored in 2 social commitment categories for their work for Celgene's "Pledge to Fight Forward" campaign, raising support and awareness for women suffering from metastatic breast cancer. The centerpiece of the campaign is a website that doubles as an online community. Through the site, visitors are able to pledge to keep an optimistic spirit by sending inspirational e-cards to those touched by the illness and follow the growth of support as seen by pledges from others around the country.
"It's an honor to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. We're very proud of the work that we've done on behalf of our Celgene client on the "Pledge to Fight Forward" initiative as well as the effort on the GROW SOLE project," says Elizabeth Elfenbein, Partner, Creative, at The CementBloc. "Both were very meaningful programs that drove social causes and made a difference in their respective communities."
The winners, selected by the Grand Jury, will be announced December 6 at the 2012 Global Awards at events in New York City and Sydney, Australia, during their annual cocktail party and awards show.
