TQ and nxtControl: a New Partnership Focusing on Customer-Specific Control Solutions

Two high-tech companies are combining their knowledge and expertise. The embedded specialist and electronics service provider TQ systems and nxtControl GmbH (http://www.nxtcontrol.com), a pioneer in the field of automation software in line with the IEC 61499 standard, are now working together to develop complete solutions for their customers.

Perfectly-aligned hardware and software components provide customized, optimal solutions to meet customers' requirements. In the future, the two companies will be reinforcing their positions as solution providers and it was therefore self-evident that they should both look for a partner that would enable them to do justice to these customer requirements. The recognition that they had more to offer the market as a team than each working individually led them to a collaboration that has now been signed and sealed.

Within the collaboration, TQ-Systems will be responsible for the development and production of application and project-specific hardware products for industrial automation and control tasks. On the other hand, nxtControl will bring extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of control software (IEC61499, IEC61131) and the development of universal engineering tools. In future, customers will receive complete solutions made up of efficient hardware that meets the highest standards in terms of quality, coupled with integrated software ranging from the field level to the SCADA level.

Thanks to the collaboration, TQ-Systems and nxtControl will be standing side-by-side with their customers. When two companies with a great deal of knowledge and expertise, driven by the spirit of innovation, work together, this creates long-term synergies. The well-known synergy formula 1 + 1 = 3 will become real for customers of the two companies. This collaboration really is more than the sum of its parts.

Docker offers a new, lightweight approach to application portability. Applications are shipped using a common container format and managed with a high-level API. Their processes run within isolated namespaces that abstract the operating environment independently of the distribution, versions, network setup, and other details of this environment. This "containerization" has often been nicknamed "the new virtualization." But containers are more than lightweight virtual machines. Beyond their small...
The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...
