OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/02/13 --
- Registered political party fourth quarter allowances for the 2012 fiscal year have been paid. These allowances are based on the results of the 41st general election of May 2, 2011.
- Registered political parties that meet voting thresholds in a general election are eligible to receive quarterly allowances.
- The current annual allowance is $1.53 per valid vote. This annual allowance is paid in quarterly instalments.
- Pursuant to the Canada Elections Act, the quarterly allowances are being reduced over a three-year period.
