Systems Made Simple, Inc. (SMS), the leading provider of IT systems and services to federal agencies that facilitate data exchange and improve healthcare delivery, announces its contract award to provide program management, case management and system integration support for the VA for Vets Program.
VA for Vets aims to increase the Veteran employment rate to 40 percent within the VA. The contract is part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Human Capital Investment Plan (HCIP) and the Office of Human Resources and Administration (OHR&A) initiative to provide improved service to Veterans in the 21st century.
SMS will support VA for Vets through case management, website optimization for mobile platforms, and improvements to the reporting platform, SFTP server, and virtual career center. The contract will develop and implement an integrated suite of IT tools needed by the VA for Vets Program to achieve its mission of creating a world-class organization of Veterans serving Veterans.
“Our categorization as a Service-disabled Veteran-owned Small Business (SDVOSB) gives SMS a unique perspective and investment in improving the career prospects of our nation’s Veterans,” said Ron Fishbeck, CEO and co-founder of SMS. “The extensive professional history SMS has with VA makes us well-positioned to deliver successful results through the VA for Vets Program contract.”
The contract contains a base schedule of 12 months and is valued at over $1.9 million with options resulting in a total value of more than $5.7 million. Upon completion, SMS will enable the VA for Vets Program to offer comprehensive support to both program staff and veterans, while establishing the VA as an employer of choice.
