PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA-02) issues this statement upon the death of Happy Fernandez.

"Happy Fernandez was an extraordinary person. She always put Philadelphia first, especially Philadelphia's children. She dedicated her long career to her adopted city, as a community leader, member of City Council, and the President of Moore College of Art and Design. It was my honor to work with Happy on numerous projects for the betterment of our city. I extend condolences to Dick Fernandez and the rest of her family. She will be missed."
