UK based custom wristbands supplier ID&C, is to launch an annual bursary offering music festivals $3000 worth of free wristbands and security credentials.
The bursary, named 'Future Festivals', will launch at the forthcoming EventLive Expo at the L.A Convention Centre between 5-7 February and is open to music festivals in the U.S. and Canada that have ran for 8 years or less and have an attendance of up to 15,000 people.
Festivals can enter for a chance to receive the bursary online at idcband.co.uk/future-festivals between February 5th and March 8th or by collecting an entry form at ID&Cs booth during the EventLive Expo.
There are no other entry criteria, but festivals will be favored for their ability to show sustainability initiatives, community involvement and their support of new music.
Although its headquarters are in the UK, since 2011 ID&C has worked with over 20 North American festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza, to which the company has supplied its security wristbands, RFID wristbands and other credentials.
In its home country, ID&C works with a further 400 festivals, sports and brand events every year. Company director Steve Daly explained how festivals in their early years can find it difficult to grow.
"For young, emerging festivals, a few unsold tickets can be the difference between seeing out another summer or not. As a family-run company ourselves, we recognize the perseverance needed to turn ideas into reality and to continue to grow. The Future Festivals bursary will give back to the industry at a grass roots level and help sustain some of the remarkable young festivals and promoters out there.
"The $3000 bursary will go some way to help smaller festivals cover the cost of a wristband and credentials package that would be fit for any of the world's largest events," added Daly.
ID&C, which works with British festivals such as Download and Isle of Wight, runs a similar bursary for small to medium grass roots festivals in the UK each year. The company is known for manufacturing the first ever cloth wristbands after being asked by Glastonbury Festival to create a highly secure alternative to the popular plastic bracelets.
ID&C is a UK based supplier of security wristbands and event credentials, specializing in technology-based products including RFID (Radio frequency identification) and NFC (Near field communication).
For over 18 years, ID&C has serviced the festival, sports and live event industries, pioneering innovative security solutions and creating products that have since been widely adopted around the world.
