America's most preferred Malbec1, Alamos is known for its food pairing versatility and will be seen in tonight's episode, appropriately titled "Daring Parings." Contestants will be challenged to create a dish to pair with the bold Malbec – a wine with distinctive dark fruit characteristics and a unique balance of acidity and oak nuances that is grown at the base of Argentina's Andes Mountains.

"The higher elevation of our vineyards provides the ideal climate and sun exposure to yield grapes with rich, layered aromas and flavors," said Alamos Winemaker Felipe Stahlschmidt. "Our unique growing conditions produce Malbec grapes with incredible flavor that pair well with a variety of foods and enhance any meal. I can't wait to see what pairings are in store for this episode."

"We're thrilled to partner with Alamos for this episode of The Taste," said Chris Coelen, "The Taste" Executive Producer and founder of Kinetic Content.  "The flavorful and food-friendly quality of Alamos Malbec really challenges the contestants to get creative."

The series, which premiered on January 22, requires the panel of mentors to judge the competitors' dishes blind with no knowledge of whose creation they're sampling, what they're eating, how it was prepared or who they could be sending home each week.

In addition to the award-winning Malbec, the Alamos portfolio of high-quality Argentine wines also includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Blend, Chardonnay, the bright, fruity white wine Torrontes, and Malbec Seleccion.

About Alamos Wines: Alamos crafts quality wines from Argentina, offering the best of Mendoza's high altitude vineyards at an incredible value ($13 SRP). Alamos grapes are grown at the foothills of the Andes Mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 5,000 feet, where intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from mountain snowmelt translate to rich wines with intense flavor characteristics. Winemaker Felipe Stahlschmidt combines modern methods with more than a century of historic winemaking techniques to craft flavorful Argentine wines of extraordinary quality and value. The explosion of connected devices / sensors is creating an ever-expanding set of new and valuable data. In parallel the emerging capability of Big Data technologies to store, access, analyze, and react to this data is producing changes in business models under the umbrella of the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular within the Insurance industry, IoT appears positioned to enable deep changes by altering relationships between insurers, distributors, and the insured. In his session at @Things...
PubNub on Monday has announced that it is partnering with IBM to bring its sophisticated real-time data streaming and messaging capabilities to Bluemix, IBM’s cloud development platform. “Today’s app and connected devices require an always-on connection, but building a secure, scalable solution from the ground up is time consuming, resource intensive, and error-prone,” said Todd Greene, CEO of PubNub. “PubNub enables web, mobile and IoT developers building apps on IBM Bluemix to quickly add sc...
Business and IT leaders today need better application delivery capabilities to support critical new innovation. But how often do you hear objections to improving application delivery like, “I can harden it against attack, but not on this timeline”; “I can make it better, but it will cost more”; “I can deliver faster, but not with these specs”; or “I can stay strong on cost control, but quality will suffer”? In the new application economy, these tradeoffs are no longer acceptable. Customers will ...
The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly in the process of breaking from its heretofore relatively obscure enterprise applications (such as plant floor control and supply chain management) and going mainstream into the consumer space. We are seeing a lot of excitement around applications in home automation, personal fitness,...
