SBANE "Calls for Nominations" for 2013 New England Innovation Awards

After a record setting number of nominees in 2012, SBANE is hoping to surpass that number in 2013

WALTHAM, Mass., Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) is proud to announce a "Call for Nominations" for the prestigious 2013 New England Innovation Awards. SBANE continues to recognize innovation as the key to economic prosperity and seeks to give acknowledgement to companies whose innovations have been game changers in their given field.

SBANE encourages companies to nominate themselves, innovative customers/clients involved in the fields of technology, manufacturing, service, retail/distribution, non-profit and media/social networking. This list is not inclusive and the judges will review all applications that meet the set forth requirements.  A recently added "Rising Star" is given to an early stage business who is demonstrating innovation, but not yet profitable.

There are a number of requirements to be nominated, including being independent and headquartered in New England, in business for a minimum of two years, $100 million maximum in revenue and must have between 2 and 300 employees in a non-profit company and 10 to 300 employees in a for-profit company. For the complete list of requirements please visit www.sbane.org and click on the "Innovation Awards" tab.

Innovation Award winners are entered into the SBANE "Circle of Excellence" where they join companies such as iRobot, Staples, Boston Duck Tours and Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc along with 194 other past winners in a variety of industries. Receiving an Innovation Award provides lasting recognition of a company's innovative heritage and recognition from SBANE's nationally recognized partners and sponsors.
