The Office of the Circuit Executive (OCE) provides administration and staff support to the Judicial Council of the Ninth Circuit, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, District Courts, Bankruptcy Courts, and Probation/Pretrial units.

The OCE is using a networked scanner to backscan several hundred boxes of archived case files and judicial reviews that are currently stored off site. Access time to these archived files is now reduced from days to minutes by using fulltext digital searches. As they are closed, future case documents can be scanned directly into the Document Locator repository from networked multifunction printers (MFPs). Document security is ensured with group and user permissions at the repository, folder, and file levels. Selected human resources and financial records will also be securely published to the OCE intranet to improve those internal processes.
