CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/03/13 -- The Fraser Institute will release a new report examining Alberta's Heritage Fund on Monday, March 4 at 6:30 a.m. (Mountain).
The report, Reforming Alberta's Heritage Fund: Lessons from Alaska and Norway, examines the history and structure of the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund, which was established in 1976 to save resource revenues for future generations, and compares its performance to similar funds established in Alaska and Norway.
The report also calculates the present-day value of the Heritage Fund if it operated under rules similar to those governing the funds of Alaska and Norway.
A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwire at 6:30 a.m. (Mountain) on Monday, March 4.
The full report will also be available as a free PDF download at www.fraserinstitute.org.
