LYMINGTON, England, March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Static caravan information and listings site, MyHolidayCaravan are preparing to launch a raft of fundraising and promotional activities as part of their partnership with The Respite Association, a charity providing support and care for the thousands of carers living in the UK.
Last week, MyHolidayCaravan announced that The Respite Association would be their Charity of the Year 2013.
The Respite Association first came to the attention of MyHolidayCaravan's director Paul Craven, after he heard about a charity using a holiday caravan to provide much needed holidays to carers, many of whom feel overwhelmed and isolated.
MyHolidayCaravan have just uploaded a page dedicated to The Respite Association on their site, and are actively promoting the work of the charity via their Twitter, Facebook and Google+ channels.
The team also plan to use their extensive email mailing list to raise money for The Respite Association, as well as donating directly to the cause themselves. Fundraising events - such as charity fun runs and marathons, with the proceeds going to The Respite Association - are also planned for later in the year.
The Respite Association's Holiday Caravan
The charity own and operate a caravan on The Richmond Caravan Park in Skegness on the Lincolnshire coast, where carers can apply for a free holiday. While the carer is enjoying a well-earned rest, The Respite Association arrange short term support to give them the peace of mind required to truly enjoy their getaway by the sea.
"When I first heard about what The Respite Association do, I was struck by how much of a difference their work makes to the lives of so many," said Paul Craven, MHC's director.
"I feel that there is such a synergy between our two organisations, and it makes sense for us to offer our support in any way we can."
"We look forward to operating alongside The Respite Association over the coming year," he continued, "and working with our industry partners and contacts to engineer some great opportunities for the charity, maybe with regard to acquiring a second caravan."
"The more carers we can help The Respite Association support, the better."
