In an effort to help retailers deliver an innovative in-store experience, LightSpeed today announced that it has a signed a lease to open its first U.S. headquarters in New York City with 3,000 square feet of space at 510 LaGuardia Place.
“Representing the hub of retail innovation, Soho was clearly the ideal location for our first U.S. office,” said LightSpeed CEO Dax Dasilva. “As demand increases for retailers to implement new technologies, we look forward to supporting the retail community here by providing a forum to exchange ideas as well as the tools they need to offer a more engaging in-store shopping experience.”
LightSpeed’s New York City office will house its enterprise sales team, which will work closely with the Company’s national sales force based in Montreal. The new office will also include a product demonstration showroom designed to educate retailers on LightSpeed’s retail management software. Furthermore, the space will serve as a training and education center for retailers and will host retail innovation seminars to help smaller, boutique retailers engage with one another and share personal insights on ways to enhance the in-store customer experience. Located in the heart of Soho, the new office is in close proximity to approximately 100 of LightSpeed’s retail customers, including Treasure & Bond, Vespa, Saturday’s Surf and Beats by Dr. Dre. The LightSpeed technology solution is currently used by over 1,000 retailers in New York City and nearly 11,000 globally.
LightSpeed’s software platform brings the access, value and speed of the online shopping experience into the store. Through its LightSpeed Mobile and LightSpeed for iPad solutions, it allows customers to view merchandise that’s not on the sales floor and effortlessly pay through handheld devices, making long checkout lines a distant memory. At the same time, LightSpeed software empowers retailers to spend more time engaging customers and selling products, as it eliminates time spent hunting through the stock room for merchandise, looking up information or ringing up purchases.
