CLEVELAND, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) issued the following statement today on the labor negotiations between the Strongsville City School District Board of Education and the Strongsville Education Association:

"An FMCS mediator met with representatives of the parties this evening and offered suggestions to them on approaches they may wish to consider in order to move toward a settlement. The FMCS will await a response from both parties as to how they wish to proceed. The mediator will remain in contact with the parties should they require continued assistance from the FMCS. However, they are free to meet without the presence of the mediator if they wish. At this time, no further meeting has been scheduled with the FMCS mediator."

Because of the sensitivity of the ongoing discussions, FMCS will have no further comment at this time.
