To further increase and enhance the focus on the growing market for consumer high speed optical links, Silicon Line today announced that Ruud van der Linden has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. van der Linden will guide Silicon Line’s development as the leading global provider of ultra-low power optical link technology for mobile and consumer markets worldwide. Data rates are exploding in mobile and consumer products and the market for optical links which can efficiently transport these data rates is rapidly growing. Mr. van der Linden will concentrate on developing this new business across the globe.
An industry veteran, Mr. van der Linden has extensive leadership experience and expertise. Prior to joining Silicon Line, Ruud was CEO at Redmere, Senior VP Asia Pacific for Freecom Inc and Senior VP for Philips Semiconductors where he was responsible for the Display Solutions Business Unit worldwide, located in Taiwan. Ruud also spent almost 6 years as Senior VP Asia Pacific at Philips Semiconductors, running the complete marketing and sales operation in Asia (also located in Taiwan).
