Searches for the P2P website eMule-Project (#43) are up 106% this week, pushing eMule to its first-ever appearance on The Lycos 50. eMule is a peer-to-peer file sharing system where users can download software, music, movies and games. Users can also add friends and send messages through an interface on the site. Among the file sharing sites, LimeWire (#21) is 70% more popular than eMule, while eMule generates less than one percent more search activity than KaZaA (#44). Though shy of making this week's list, search activity for Ringtone downloads is also up 370 percent over the past week.

With the first pre-season action taking place this week, searches for Football (#14) continue to remain high. Baseball holds its spot at number 23 spot on The Lycos 50, as the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees prepare for a five-game series beginning next week.
