Convergence Team, a professional services company focused on delivering Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions, today announced the deployment of a complete EAM solution comprised of SAP, IBM Maximo, and Retriever mobility solutions for CP Retailink, a business group of CP ALL which is a division of Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand's largest agriculture-based conglomerate. CP Retailink responsibilities include, among others, the sales, management, and maintenance of assets in 7-Eleven convenience stores throughout Thailand. The solutions will drive efficiency and increase productivity for more than 7,200 stores.
CP Retailink selected Convergence Team when seeking a best-of-breed EAM solution to improve its businesses and operations as well as to support its continuous growth at minimal costs. The project objectives are specifically focused in the areas of performance, management and control, customer service, and financial, and include:
- Utilizing mobile and barcode technology to reduce manual input and increase data accuracy,
- Linking important information together (asset, spare part, location, downtime, etc.),
- Centralizing maintenance information to streamline operation processes,
- Mobile management of inventory,
- Extracting information from multiple points for centralized reporting and KPIs,
- Managing customer agreements and billing with work-management processes,
- Automating workflows to route and escalate work,
- Standardizing maintenance work processes by using master templates, and
- Integrating external systems to automate data flow.
Implementing a complex solution
This project has been a three-year major undertaking for the CP ALL subsidiaries and Convergence Team due to the integration complexities and the multi-site, multi-lingual support environment needed across Southeast Asia.
Stuart MacDonald, managing director at Convergence Team, said, “Delivering an EAM software solution this large, complex, and cutting edge is a significant challenge, and we are honored to work in partnership with the CP group to deliver an on-budget solution. This project is a perfect example of a visionary company utilizing technology to improve efficiency and puts them at the forefront of asset lifecycle management in the APAC region.”
Mobile solution increases productivity
As part of the project rollout, Convergence Team also integrated Retriever – a mobile service extension – to IBM Maximo. With the EAM interface, more CP Retailink teams of technicians can process work orders, track labor, manage parts, and view inventory using handheld devices. From the field, they are able to save time and increase accuracy as they make repairs and log them in real-time. For CP Retailink, this increase in productivity will be crucial as the company grows over the next several years.

When an enterprise builds a hybrid IaaS cloud connecting its data center to one or more public clouds, security is often a major topic along with the other challenges involved. Security is closely intertwined with the networking choices made for the hybrid cloud. Traditional networking approaches for building a hybrid cloud try to kludge together the enterprise infrastructure with the public cloud. Consequently this approach requires risky, deep "surgery" including changes to firewalls, subnets...

The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. With many IoT elements rooted in traditional IT components, Big Data and IoT isn’t just a play for enterprise. In fact, the IoT presents SMBs with the prospect of launching entirely new activities and exploring innovative areas. CompTIA research identifies several areas where IoT is expected to have the greatest impac...

Over the years, a variety of methodologies have emerged in order to overcome the challenges related to project constraints. The successful use of each methodology seems highly context-dependent. However, communication seems to be the common denominator of the many challenges that project management methodologies intend to resolve. In this respect, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be viewed as powerful tools for managing projects. Few research papers have focused on the way...

As the world moves from DevOps to NoOps, application deployment to the cloud ought to become a lot simpler. However, applications have been architected with a much tighter coupling than it needs to be which makes deployment in different environments and migration between them harder. The microservices architecture, which is the basis of many new age distributed systems such as OpenStack, Netflix and so on is at the heart of CloudFoundry – a complete developer-oriented Platform as a Service (PaaS...

You use an agile process; your goal is to make your organization more agile. But what about your data infrastructure? The truth is, today's databases are anything but agile - they are effectively static repositories that are cumbersome to work with, difficult to change, and cannot keep pace with application demands. Performance suffers as a result, and it takes far longer than it should to deliver new features and capabilities needed to make your organization competitive. As your application an...
