CONWAY, Ark., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the South's premier children's consignment companies, Rhea Lana's Children's Consignment, today announced its expansion in to the growing Northwest Arkansas market and the public launch of Rhea Lana's Web Settlement System, a web-based, point-of sale software developed exclusively for the management of children's consignment events. A leader in the professional consignment sale business, Rhea Lana Riner works with sale operators from the U.S. and Canada to establish and organize their businesses.
"When my children were young, I had a hard time finding quality clothes for them at affordable prices," said Riner, president of Rhea Lana's. "As any mom knows, kids grow out of everything so quickly. I needed a way to sell the items that were still in good condition for a fair price. I started out with a one-day sale in my living room with a few other moms. I never dreamed that it would grow into such an enterprise but there's clearly a need for it."
For the last 9 years, Rhea Lana's Children's Consignment Sale has hosted a semi-annual children's consignment sale event both in Conway and/or Little Rock, Arkansas. The sales draw thousands of shoppers and consignors from throughout Arkansas and surrounding states seeking the cost-savings of purchasing and selling high quality used Children's Clothing. This year, the company is expanding its footprint by hosting a sale in Springdale, Arkansas, September 28 - 30, 2006.
The Springdale sale will be preceded by the Conway, Arkansas, sale September 9 - 16 and followed by the Little Rock sale October 12-14.
"There's such a broad range of items," adds Riner. "You can buy and sell just about anything -- from clothing, bedding, decorative items, furniture, toys, baby gear and more."
Rhea Lana's also offers on-line management and tracking of all merchandise through its computerized inventory system, created six years ago by Riner and her husband, which allows consignors to monitor the status of their sale items in real-time.
"Each of the items has its own bar code, a bar code scanner at check out recognizes each item and calculates a total for each sale," explains Riner. "Check out goes quickly since no one is doing any math. The main concern of our customers is that each tag is accounted for and each item is scanned."
More than 20 companies throughout the United States and Canada are currently using Rhea Lana's software and consulting services.
"The Rhea Lana system is just what we have always wanted. We searched for over 2 years in search of some way to help us organize our sale before we found this program. Every other package we found was lacking in some way and did not meet our needs," said Greg Beckwith co-owner of Belles and Beaus Consignment in Lexington, South Carolina. "I can honestly say that the Rhea Lana system meets all of our organizational needs and also gives our consignors a lot of security for their precious items."
"With this software, we are able to account for every item that is brought to the sale, tell our consignors when something sells and for what price by uploading to the website nightly and give them a detailed inventory report at the end of the sale with just the click of a button," explained Carol Beckwith. "Because we are the most organized and advanced sale in the midlands, we have grown by leaps and bounds each season."
