Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

Swissray International, Inc. Adds Proactive Remote Monitoring to Their Digital Radiography Systems

ELIZABETH, N.J., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Swissray International, Inc. announced today that they have successfully deployed their proactive remote monitoring service.

Swissray International, Inc., a global leader in digital radiography technology, has developed an advanced proactive monitoring service for their digital radiographic systems leveraging technology from Questra Corporation, a leading provider of Intelligent Device Management (IDM) solutions.

"Reducing the customer's total cost of ownership and maintaining a 99% uptime were our goals," stated Ueli Laupper, Swissray's Sr. VP for Global Sales and Marketing. "Our engineers worked closely with the Questra team and created a solution that allows us to proactively monitor and manage our DR Systems 24/7. Quantifiable improvements in service response time and diagnostic accuracy have resulted in reduced cost of service, allowing Swissray to pass these savings on to the customer. All new Swissray ddR Systems come equipped with remote monitoring capabilities. This is the biggest improvement in digital radiography reliability since DR was first introduced to the world by Swissray."

Swissray's new remote service fully supports monitoring, diagnostics, proactive and reactive alarms/alerts, remote desktop control, software configuration management, and analytics on a real-time, 24x7 basis. The Questra IDM Application Suite(TM) integrated into Swissray's DR devices will deliver a proactive service offering that meets the unique needs of health care providers for patient privacy protection, faster response time, maximum uptime, and lower maintenance cost.

This software has tight security provisions that complement health care providers' existing network security infrastructure including firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Now Swissray is able to provide cutting-edge digital radiographic equipment with remote monitoring and diagnostics that can be configured to comply with virtually any health care provider's IT network.

The integration of Questra software into Swissray's customer support center provides a solution that will help health care providers comply with federal government regulations protecting confidential patient information.

The Questra IDM Application Suite includes enterprise platform software, server-based applications, agents loaded into in-field devices, and connectors that interface with call centers, CRM/ERP enterprise applications, and wireless devices.

"We are very pleased to be working with Swissray to deploy their proactive remote monitoring service," said Walt Rossi, vice president of marketing at Questra. "Clearly there is momentum for remote support in the medical device industry, as evidenced by Swissray's extensive deployment across their customer base. Questra continues to drive that momentum by providing the most innovative and effective technology and consulting."

Swissray currently provides a full range of DR systems for orthopedic applications, imaging centers, hospitals and emergency departments. All of Swissray's DR systems include the unique APS(TM) (Automated Positioning System) for fully automated remote controlled system positioning.
