Cat® Footwear Signs Luke Lambert As Earthmover

Global footwear manufacturer signs No. 31 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crew chief in Earthmovers campaign.

ROCKFORD, Mich., May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cat Footwear is excited to announce a new addition to their Earthmovers Campaign.  Luke Lambert, crew chief of the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet is the youngest crew chief at the highest level of racing, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  The Cat Footwear Earthmovers Campaign celebrates individuals who "move the earth" in their everyday lives and highlights individuals who may or may not be widely recognized for what they do and the difference they make. When he was just a young child, Luke Lambert fell in love with racing.  This year, he realized his dream when he was called up to be the crew chief of the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet. Now responsible for a team in NASCAR's premier division, Lambert is one of the youngest ever to be named crew chief at such an elite level.

Lambert's interest in racing began when his father would take him to the NASCAR races at Bristol Motor Speedway as a child.  He began racing go-karts and continued his passion when he attended North Carolina State University to study mechanical engineering. Upon graduation, Lambert pursued a job at Richard Childress Racing where he advanced from a mechanical engineer to a race engineer and eventually to a crew chief. "Racing has been a big part of my life since I was young. I love the sport and always knew that this is the industry I wanted to work in. I love how fast paced and exciting it is," says Lambert. 

Cat Footwear learned about Lambert in the Fall of 2012 when RCR announced their 2013 teams.  "When we heard about Luke and his story, we realized he would be a great fit for our Earthmovers Campaign," says Kelly Ballou, Marketing Manager for Cat Footwear.
