Improving the Efficiency of SOA-Based Applications
jhv1blz5 wrote: The article validated SOA as an IT architecture paradigm that can be leveraged in many ways. Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. The very benefits of SOA.

KaufmanHall Selects Good Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus Domino
Selection Is Based on Good's Security, Manageability, Efficient User Interface, Device Choice, and Overall Value as Compared to

PHOENIX, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Technology, Inc., the trusted standard for enterprise mobile computing software and service, today announced KaufmanHall, a pioneering financial services and software company for the healthcare industry, has deployed Good(TM) Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus(R) Domino(R). After a thorough evaluation process and successful beta testing program, the initial rollout will include Good Mobile Messaging running on the Cingular 2125 Smartphone, and Palm(R) Treo(TM) 650 and Treo 700p smartphones.

Good Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus Domino offers millions of Lotus Notes users true enterprise-class mobile collaboration, with secure wireless access across a spectrum of Windows Mobile, Palm OS(R), and Symbian wireless smartphones.

"A high percentage of our employees spend a great deal of time traveling to client meetings and customer engagements," said Kevin Livesay, director of technology and development, KaufmanHall. "During our evaluation process, Good Mobile Messaging stood out from the competition by providing the most features and best value. Having Good Mobile Messaging in our environment will improve productivity and responsiveness because employees can now communicate in real-time with their clients and other employees."

During the evaluation process, KaufmanHall's IT department was impressed with the user interface and real-time access to email, calendaring, and contact information. The user interface was much more intuitive and efficient than the other solutions that were evaluated. When testing Good Mobile Messaging, KaufmanHall employees didn't need any training to dramatically increase their productivity. Employees also liked the real-time access to Lotus Notes. Livesay reported that this was a nice change from the old solution that required employees to manually synchronize the handheld.

Handheld choice was also an important reason for selecting Good Mobile Messaging. "Windows Mobile and Palm Treo devices act as real computers and not just dumb terminals," said Livesay. With these handhelds, employees can accomplish a lot more than just responding to messages. Also, support for multiple devices does not tie KaufmanHall in to a single hardware vendor, allowing the company to choose the right device for the right purpose.

From an IT perspective, robust over-the-air software manageability, real-time handheld visibility, and end-to-end security were key. With Good Mobile Messaging, KaufmanHall's cost of management has decreased significantly. Provisioning and updating devices over-the-air without IT having to touch them makes Livesay's job much easier. Good also takes security to the next level by allowing Livesay to remotely wipe a device if it is lost or stolen. With Good, KaufmanHall also doesn't have to buy SSL certificates every year, which saves a lot of time and expense.

"Overall Good was by far the best choice when compared to other solutions," concluded Livesay. "We had a full spreadsheet of requirements and Good Mobile Messaging was the only product that could do what we wanted."
