LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/06/06 -- California Rural Legal Assistance [CRLA], a nonprofit in the forefront of justice for the underserved, celebrates 40 years of assistance to California's most vulnerable. For four decades, migrant workers and working poor have found a singular champion in CRLA, comprised of lawyers dedicated to their protection.

The Tareada is hosted by Dolores Leal and Tomas Olmos, partners in the law firm of Allred, Maroko and Goldberg, in the sprawling garden of the Olmos' residence located at 2120 Fern Dell Place, Los Angeles, CA, the event is from 2pm-5:30pm.

Relaxed and casual, the fundraiser features a silent art auction of distinguished Latino artists, a wine tasting, tequila bar, live Mariachi music and Mexican cuisine.

In the prevailing spirit of CRLA, a 50 1(c) 3 statewide, non-profit social justice organization all proceeds from the event benefit the organization's commitment to no-cost legal services, community outreach and education workshops to California's farmworkers and working poor.

This year's honorees include George Ramirez, Market President of Union Bank of California, Maria Medina, President of Statewide Migrant Parent Advisory Committee, Simon Silva, Chicano Artist and Writer, and guest speaker the Honorable Carlos Moreno, Justice, Supreme Court of California.

Past honorees have included Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Esai Morales, Father Greg Boyle, and Congresswoman Hilda Solis. Sponsors include D'Anbino Vineyards who will be supplying the wine for the event, and Para Mi Tequila who will host the margarita bars and offering tequila tastings of their rare reposados. The artwork to be auctioned off at the event will be provided by acclaimed artists, Adan Hernandez, Patssi Valdez, Rick Ortega, Eva Montealegre, Jerolyn Crute, Irene Carranza, Simon Silva, Sonia Romero, Yolanda Gonzalez, Roberto Gutierrez, and Jose Ramirez.
