VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/07/06 -- Visiphor Corporation ("Visiphor" or the
"Company") (OTCBB: VISRF) (TSX-V: VIS) (XETRA: IGYA) is pleased to report
that it has been awarded a contract with the City of Santa Ana, California,
for Visiphor's recently announced InForce Arrest and Booking 2.0 (IFAB).
The contract value is $225,000 US for the IFAB software, interfaces,
reports and consulting services. The project is expected to be completed
before the end of 2006.
IFAB 2.0 is a full-featured jail booking system that includes functions for
data sharing, facial-recognition searches, identification, mug shots,
enrollment and reporting. As part of Visiphor's Briyante Integration
Environment (BIE) solution family, IFAB provides powerful functions for
data sharing with other Law Enforcement and Justice systems. With the
facial recognition features, officers can conduct searches and
identification, using only a person's facial image. At the City of Santa
Ana, IFAB will share data with Abbey Group JCMS, CAD, CMS, RWM, CLETS,
CopLink and LiveScan fingerprinting systems.
"We are proud to be selected by Santa Ana for their arrest and booking
system needs," said Mr. Roy Trivett, President and CEO of Visiphor. "IFAB
is an advanced product with data sharing and facial recognition, and we're
happy to see it quickly adopted by law enforcement." IFAB uses a
smart-client technology that provides jail booking functions for Santa Ana
officers plus support for remote capture stations for multiple agencies in
the county.
The City of Santa Ana is a diverse community of over 350,000 residents with
a population of over 500,000 by day. It is the ninth largest city in
California and the county seat of government for Orange County, which has a
population of over 3 million residents. The Santa Ana Police Department is
the largest municipal police agency in Orange County with over 700
employees providing a variety of police services, including over 400 sworn
officers. The Santa Ana Police Department has been recognized since 1997 as
a DOJ National Demonstration Site and Training Center for Community
