The exterior of the 2014 BMW 5 Series sports athletic contour lines, an accentuated rear end, and slim sharply contoured rear lights. Xenon adaptive headlights are now standard on all 2014 BMW 5 Series to promote improved visibility and safety. Additionally, updated aerodynamics are a key factor in the latest fuel efficiency advances for the 5 Series.
The interior of the BMW 5 Series features a central display with the standard iDrive functioning system surrounded by chrome trim. The front console cup holders and storage compartments all feature increased capacity as well as the rear luggage cargo area.
Increased Array of Engine Options
Furthermore, the BMW 5 Series features more power and a greater selection of engine options for 2014. With the addition of BMW Advanced Diesel, BMW provides even greater efficiency potential and continues the expansion of the entire engine range from the BMW 528i to the BMW 535i, BMW Active Hybrid 5, and more.
The BMW 535d has been included as the latest diesel model in the United States. It features the inline-6 BMW Advanced Diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. Capable of 255 horsepower and 413lb-ft of torque, this new engine delivers plenty of power. It is also expected to show significant fuel efficiency improvement over the gasoline-powered counterpart.
