Nonprofit helps U.S. microlender come to Detroit

DETROIT, June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Grameen America, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit microfinance organization founded by Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Muhammad Yunus, receives $1M commitment from Whole Planet Foundation® to support entrepreneurs in Detroit. Whole Foods Market co-CEO, Walter Robb, announced the commitment as part of Whole Foods Market's investment in the City of Detroit. The Detroit store officially opened June 5, 2013.
