TORONTO--(Marketwired - August 08, 2013) - Movember Canada, with the guidance of the Canadian Men's Health Network (CMHN), is proud to announce its second Request for Application (RFA). This RFA is seeking innovative and holistic, professional health education proposals that will improve the mental and physical health of men and boys. There is $1M allocated to this RFA. Applicants must submit their full submission electronically via the Movember RFA Review Room by 5:00 PM EST September 30th, 2013.
Applications from health care professionals in Canada will focus on innovative ideas with the objective to:
- Address a specific mental and physical health gap in knowledge of health care professionals as it relates to boys' and men's health.
- Support a holistic and innovative approach integrating mental and physical health needs of boys and men to improve outcomes. It is anticipated that a holistic approach will yield better results than a single, isolated health education approach.
"It's the commitment and passion of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas that enables Movember to be able to support these types of initiatives," said Pete Bombaci, National Director, Movember Canada. "We're so excited to see the programs that will come as a result of this and the impact they will have."
"Movember's second call for application in the mental health sphere is an outstanding opportunity for the Canadian health care community to identify what changes can be made from within that will allow for the better treatment of male mental health issues," said Paul Villanti, Executive Director Programs, Movember. "Knowledge is power and through this application process Movember hopes to empower healthcare professionals to fill in the gaps and make a tangible difference to the lives of men."
Applicants must submit their full submission electronically via the Movember RFA by 5:00 PM EST September 30th, 2013. All final applications are subject to peer review, with the peer review panel comprising members with national and international expertise in mental health. The earliest start date for these interventions is Movember 1st, 2013.
All guidelines and submission details are included for applicants through the online RFA system at https://cmhn-education.myreviewroom.com.
