The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council's (ACT-IAC) Institute for Innovation today announced a new award program, “Igniting Innovation 2013 Showcase and Awards.” The program’s objective is to recognize IT innovations throughout government including hardware, software, services and solutions. Call for Nominations are now open with a submission deadline of September 13, 2013.
“The Institute for Innovation is launching this new program bringing greater recognition to the teams of government and industry IT professionals who bring innovative thinking into the products, services, systems and solutions that they develop,” said Andrew Robinson, Chair of the Institute for Innovation and senior vice-president at ICF International. “We encourage innovations developed solely by government, by industry, or in collaboration. From the Top 30 innovations to the final selection, there will be unprecedented live and media exposure. In the absence of any participation fees and a vibrant innovative federal environment, we anticipate that there will be numerous nominations.”
In addition to accepting a wide variety of nominations, the “Igniting Innovation 2013 Showcase and Awards” program stands out among other industry awards in several key ways:
- Combines an IT innovation solution showcase with an award program delivering a collaborative educational forum for all participants;
- Uses a unique judging process that integrates public social media voting and the live Showcase;
- Charges no fees for nominations, attendance, or exhibition;
- Enables two representatives from each award winner (Igniting Innovation Award and Dynamite Awards) to attend an exclusive luncheon/reception with leaders in government and industry to discuss leveraging IT innovation across government.
The Showcase and recognition program is open to all and is scheduled for November 19, 2013 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
