Several owners of the new Google Nexus 7 have resorted to posting on online forums about a problem they are having with their new tablet. The problem has to do with the GPS system on the slate. According to one owner of the new Nexus 7, the device will lock on to the satellite with no problem and you can be located or navigate your way around town for 10 to 30 minutes before the tracking suddenly stops. One user reports that his GPS goes out after just two minutes! The tablet then goes into searching mode with the GPS icon blinking. According to these hard luck Nexus 7 owners, sometimes rebooting the slate helps, sometimes it doesn’t. Even exchanging the affected unit for another one didn’t solve the problem for at least one owner. According to that same owner of the slate, Google is aware of the situation and is working on a fix, although details were sketchy as to when it might be rolled out.
