Gazzang, the big data security experts, today announced the appointment of Alexander Bibighaus to vice president of engineering. In this role, he will lead the engineering and development team at Gazzang and is responsible for software development and quality assurance for the company’s cloud and big data security solutions.
Bibighaus brings more than 15 years of expertise in enterprise software, mobile, SaaS and cloud application development, serving most recently as the director of product development at BMC Software, where he drove DevOps product direction and managed a global team of more than 60 people. He came to BMC via the acquisition of Phurnace Software, where he was vice president of development and chief architect. Previously co-founder and CTO of Zosh, an iPhone software company acquired by YouSendIt, Bibighaus has also held several software development roles at Motive and IBM.
Bibighaus takes over for Eddie Garcia who was recently named vice president of information security and services, leading the company’s new InfoSec practice and focused on ensuring customer success through big data expertise, from pre-sales to deployment and ongoing support. The company also promoted Sam Heywood to vice president of marketing, responsible for global product innovation and delivery, corporate marketing and demand generation programs.
