Canon Business Process Services, a leading provider of managed services and technology, today announced version 2.0 of its CaseData™ web-based document review system for legal discovery. CaseData enables legal teams to collaboratively produce, search and review documents for legal discovery and regulatory matters. Version 2.0 offers new features that enable legal teams to reduce the time and costs associated with eDiscovery and document review.
Litigation requires that attorneys review large volumes of electronic and paper documents as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. CaseData’s advanced features enable legal professionals to collaborate more efficiently and manage eDiscovery projects with greater accuracy and control.
CaseData 2.0 features an enhanced “TIFF on the fly” module, which enables clients to convert native file documents into TIFF image files for redaction and production within the CaseData platform. Enhancements include the ability to convert native files into color TIFF images as well as into a landscape orientation. Clients can also create TIFF images with specified time zone stamps and using the batch conversion feature, simultaneously convert a quantity of documents into TIFF images.
Another important enhancement is the early data assessment view. This enables clients to view documents before they are processed and promoted to review within CaseData. Processing activities include deNISTing (removing systems files, program files and other non-user created data), de-duping and near-duping (identifying documents that are identical or near identical), data culling and keyword searching. The ability to view documents before they are processed gives CaseData users the ability to gain insight into the size and scope of their discovery. Clients can use this insight to reduce the amount of data that needs to stored, processed and ultimately reviewed, which in turn yields significant cost and time savings.
Canon Business Process Services plans to showcase additional CaseData 2.0 enhancements in the fall. A leader in the legal industry, Canon also recently announced that it provides outsourced document management and electronic discovery services to 64 of the Am Law 200 firms. This includes four of the top 10 firms and eight of the top 20 firms. For more information on industry best practices and Canon’s legal industry solutions, visit Canon Legal Solutions.
