Not only is Apple working on a new iPhone, but they are rumored to be working on a smart-watch and a TV as well. Unfortunately both of these devices aren’t ready to be rolled out at next month’s event.
Next month’s release will really be a chance for Apple to show the smartphone market what they are made of. In the past iPhone has dominated the smartphone market, but recently phones like the Galaxy S4 have put a dent in iPhone sales.
There have been some leaks and speculation of what is going to be in the new iPhone, and even what it is going to be named. As always with things like this, take what you hear with a grain of salt. Not always do all rumors appear in the revealed device.
The new iPhone is expected to be called the 5S, keeping with the same design as the current iPhone. Apple will also roll out a cheaper version of the iPhone, potentially named the 5C, as to reacher a larger buyers market. The new less expensive phone is projected to cost $99 and come in six different colors. Because there will be a new cheaper iPhone, Apple will also discontinue production of older iPhone models.
Not only might there be a cheaper iPhone, but an iPhone with a larger screen. The new phone will either have a 4.7 inch or 5.7 inch screen, this modification has been done to compete with other smartphones that have larger screens.
Another modification to the new iPhone is it’s security system. The new iPhone is expected to have a fingerprint scanner for added security. Per usual, this new phone will have a longer battery life, a faster processor, and an improved camera.
These rumors have yet to be confirmed, so we will have to see how they pan out at next month’s reveal. But in the end Apple can definitely be counted on for a few new surprises.
