A new study from RnR Market Research indicates the cloud computing market within the U.S. government sector could be worth $18.48 billion by 2018 as agencies accelerate adoption of the technology.
Enterprises are increasingly seeking to acquire “as-a-service” offerings with a goal of forming a more connected government, RnR said.
Agencies either offer and directly manage their cloud setups, or system integrators hold the keys for private clouds on behalf of agencies.
RnR aimed to identify the disruptive nature of cloud in business process and adds that cloud adoption aims to increase collaboration and transparency in data analytics and information sharing capabilities between departments.
